Artist Statement

I am a Los Angeles based multidisciplinary artist. My work aims to bridge the gap between art and science, revealing the beauty and complexity of the natural world while also addressing important environmental issues and spiritual aspects of this world.Through my work, I seek to intrigue and inspire my audience by questioning the world around us and uncovering hidden truths.

As an artist, I am constantly driven by a desire to push the boundaries of my medium and explore new possibilities. My creative process involves the use of a variety of mineral solutions and salt, which I mix and apply to my canvas or immerse objects into. This technique has allowed me to create captivating textures and effects that add depth and richness to my work.

On my canvases, mineral solutions serve as another medium to paint with, leading to the formation of crystals and delicate lace-like patterns on the canvas.  In the series titled “Oceans of Crystalline,” I experimented with incorporating organic materials into the mineral solution and using digital compositions to create limited edition pieces. In “Preserved Memories,” an installation exploring dementia, I used this same technique to preserve personal items that held significance to patients and their families.

My latest series explores the impact of seawater and salt intrusion on farming practices and the future of our food source. Through my art, I aim to bring attention to this critical issue and provoke thought and discussion.

I am committed to continuing my exploration and experimentation with my medium and pushing it to new heights, with the goal of inspiring and challenging both myself and my audience.
