Artist Statement

Based in Los Angeles, my art practice is focused on the forces of the natural world and the undercurrents that make up life. Through painting I explore beauty and the complexity of the unseen, revealing energy and time in a physical manifestation of color and light.

My creative process is influenced by artists like Helen Frankenthaler, Agnes Pelton, and Georgia O’Keeffe, who sought to give form to invisible forces and break the boundaries of expectation.

In my work I am interested in exploring the dynamic relationship between color, light, and memory, capturing the unexpected beauty that emerges when these elements interact. I embrace the inherent surprises of the creative process, allowing colors to blend and transform in ways that reflect the organic flow of life. This approach speaks to the unpredictable nature of existence, where new connections are formed, boundaries dissolve, and fresh possibilities arise.

Central to my practice is a fascination with the mysteries of the universe, both seen and unseen. Drawing from personal experiences and scientific discoveries, I create pieces that invite viewers to reconsider their perceptions of space, light, and the unknown. Through mixed media, flow, transparencies, and intricate textures, I create sense of depth and vastness, encouraging a deeper engagement with the profound beauty that exists beyond our immediate perception.

My work also reflects on the human experience, focusing on the passage of time, memory, and the fragility of life. By juxtaposing fluid, transparent layers and structured elements, I express the delicate balance between order and chaos, clarity and obscurity. Through these layers, I seek to honor the invisible forces that shape our understanding of the world and our connections with one another.
